It continues to be an honor working alongside students and their whanau/families within the counseling framework. While our counselling sessions are available during term time, we always encourage students to apply what they’ve learned outside of school/Kura hours too.

Whether your child is actively engaged in counselling or not, if you or someone you care about requires support and assistance over the summer holidays, the contact details below might prove helpful. I sincerely hope the Christmas period grants you the opportunity to connect with loved ones, unwind, recharge, and engage in activities that bring you joy.

Should you or your child need to speak with trained mental health professionals, the following wellbeing and support services are available. These are among the numerous online services dedicated to mental health support:

  • Youthline – 0800 376 633 or free text 234, with a web chat option available.
  • What’s Up – 0800 942 8787 (Phone counseling for 5–18-year-olds).
  • Lifeline – 0800 543 354.
  • Need to talk? – Free call or text 1737 for support from a trained counselor.
  • The Lowdown – 0800 111 757, email team@thelowdown.co.nz, free text 5626, also with a web chat option.

In the case of an emergency or if you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 111.
