Healthy School Lunches Programme

The Government has introduced a free, healthy, daily school lunch in some schools for all students. It was introduced Term 1, 2021 and is being extended until 2023.

Delivered daily, the food is distributed in Whanau Groups. The lunches cater for the diet, health, and cultural needs of our students; all food is peanut free and prepared according to halal practices and is healthy and nutritious. The varied menu is rotated and is proving popular.

All packaging is compostable/recyclable. The food scraps and packaging are placed back in crates they come in and both are composted to make living earth.

Our supplier is University of Canterbury Student Association (UCSA). Suppliers are required to meet New Zealand food safety standards.
