Athletics Day 2023

A reminder that Hillmorton High School Athletics Sports will be held this Monday at Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub.

This is always such a wonderful event in our calendar and we are very lucky to have it at Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub. All students are to make their own way to Ngā Puna Wai and meet at the venue by 8:45am. The day is expected to finish at 3:00pm. All students will be released to go home from Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub.

This event will be a whole school occasion and all students are expected to attend. Attendance rolls will be taken and absences noted as usual. Normal school rules will apply throughout this day, including our Cell Phone Free Policy. From the start to the end of the day, we ask students do not use their phones but are engaging in all activities. 

As this is a major Whānau House competition, we ask that you would support us in actively encouraging your son/daughter to get involved. House points are given for every student who participates.

Please ensure your son/daughter is aware of the information below.

Students need to bring:

• Students should come dressed in their Whanau House colours appropriate for competing.

• Plenty of water.

• Money to buy food if they wish to purchase from the fundraising stalls. Students are to stay on site and can not got to the shops. School Lunches will be provided. 

• Sunscreen and sun hat.

• Warm clothing if cooler weather.

Cancellation

• If the athletic sports need to be cancelled due to bad weather we will email and text all parents/caregivers. 

• In this case all students need to be at school in school uniform at our normal start time for a Monday morning at 9:20am.
