Mental health Support

Helping Students Thrive Emotionally and Mentally

At Hillmorton, we are committed to ensuring that all students have access to the support they need to thrive, both emotionally and mentally. Our counselling and support services are designed to offer a safe, confidential space where students can discuss any issues they are facing. Whether it’s academic pressure, personal challenges, or social concerns, our team is here to listen and provide guidance.

Our support services are aimed at fostering wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth, helping students manage their emotions and develop positive coping strategies. The school’s counselling team works closely with students to provide tailored support based on individual needs, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Guidance & Counselling Team

Hillmorton’s Counselling Team includes Jude Murray, Head of Guidance & Counselling, along with full-time counsellors Kesh Sabey and Claire Hughes. Each year, we also welcome two counselling interns who contribute to our supportive, student-focused service.

We offer confidential support for students and whānau, and work closely with staff to promote wellbeing across our school community.
