To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at Hillmorton High School, the Ministry of Education has developed an enrolment scheme. This enrolment scheme is to be implemented from January 2020. Under this scheme, students will be entitled to be enrolled if they live within the home zone. The enrolment of out of zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989.

The tidy wearing of correct uniform, or respecting the Year 13 Dress Code, are conditions of attendance at Hillmorton High School. Full correct uniform is to be worn to, from and at school; when students are identifiable as Hillmorton High School students in a public place or at a function where the wearing of school uniform is required.
