Construction preparation works begin…

We’re pleased to announce that next week, preliminary works will take place as we begin to prepare for our new Science block. This will be built ready for the 2027 school year.
The initial works to be completed are:

Bike and scooter stand relocation (completed)

From Monday to Wednesday next week a number of trees will be removed.

During the holidays from Monday 14th April, the AV Theatre will be demolished (which is the site of the new Science Block).
Tree Removal
We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and visitors. Tree removal zones will be clearly marked, and additional safety measures will be in place to minimise disruptions. This should have little to no impact on students or learning.
AV Theatre Demolition
This will take place from 14th April. There is asbestos contained in the cladding of the AV Theatre so it is advised that you avoid this part of the school during the holidays. It will be safely removed but it is important we let you know.
Bike/Scooter Stand Relocation
The bike and scooter stands at the Upland Road entrance have been relocated next to the Hall and opposite the new gym – Te Kōmata o Te Rangi. There is improved security in this area with better lighting and CCTV cameras. The stands outside Aonga Ake remain unchanged and available for use.
