Quantelle has been awarded the Tania Dalton Foundation Scholarship alongside gaining a spot in the Netball New Zealand Secondary Schools Squad for 2019.

Quantelle is a Year 13 student at Hillmorton High school, a Whānau House Leader this year, captain of the senior A girls netball team and on the Sports Committee.  She is an extraordinary inspiration to her peers.  Quantelle has only been in Christchurch for four years since moving from up north.  Since being in Canterbury she has had huge sporting success in netball.

Quantelle has been named in the U14, U15 and U17 Canterbury Representative Netball teams, and this year she will trial for the U19 Canterbury team.  She was invited to attend the Netball New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Development Camp in 2018 after hitting their radar through representative netball.  It wasn’t until this year that Quantelle was named in the NNZSS squad.

Most recently Quantelle has been awarded the Tania Dalton Foundation Scholarship.  This is a scholarship created in the name and honour of the sporting and netball legend Tania Dalton. Quantelle explains, “this scholarship goes towards my future goals and aspirations as a young netballer and a young woman.  While away for the scholarship weekend in Auckland, the other girls and I did a lot of team bonding and also got the chance to meet Tania’s family and friends along with an insight into the beautiful person that she was”.

We are very proud of Quantelle and the way that this young woman represents our school.  We wish her all the best in the upcoming NNZSS campaign and the U19 Canterbury season, along with her school duties as captain and house leader.
