Over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, six brave Year 13 P.E. students took on the Christchurch City Half Marathon event in less than desirable conditions.

This photo is of senior students, Emily Blockley, Ella Coetzee and Sophie Clark, all three finished the ASB Christchurch half marathon course and ticked off their first ever half marathon event over the long weekend.

Sunday the 2 June was nothing short of a wet and cold winters day, however these girls managed to not let the weather ruin their day.  Running with 4,000 other competitors in the 39th year this event has been run,  the girls persevered and managed to finish the race despite the harsh conditions!

We are very proud of these three along with three male students, Daniel Young and Jamie Thyne who also completed the course on Sunday, and Isaac Carroll who attempted the run despite the rain and biting winds.

Well done to all level 3 P.E. students for taking part in this Christchurch event, a fantastic personal milestone and achievement.
