With four teams fighting for two spots in Division One, Hillmorton High School’s Senior Boys basketball team set out to win a weekend of games against the top schools in order to move into Division One.

Historically, Hillmorton has competed in Division Two of the Whelan Trophy Competition on Tuesday evenings. 

After coming first place in this competition 2017 they were determined to move into Division One for 2018 – especially after coming first place at South Island Secondary Schools and second at National 2017. 

 Hillmorton won their first game against Ashburton College 71-47 

They lost their second game verse St Bedes 69-75

The third game was a must win game against St Thomas and they had to win by four points to qualify . The boys won 78 -72.

Watch this space! An exciting season ahead for these boys as they enter into Division One of the Whelan Trophy competition.
