Y13 Geography went to Wainui to investigate the area

Students went to the YMCA in Wainui for 3 days in order to understand coastal processes along local beaches. They also had assessments about Tourism in the bay and the implications of cruise ships on locals, business owners and tourists.

The class went out on the Black Cat Cruise and saw penguins, seals, geographic features, albatrosses and dozens of dolphins too.

There was a little downtime for students to head to the beach or jetty in the freezing waters of the bay.
