The Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is an accessible facility for all students. It provides instruction to students and staff on an individual and group basis, according to needs.

The SENCO ( Special Education Needs Co-ordinator) oversees the Learning Centre’s programmes and staff. The Centre is focuses on the learning needs of all students at Hillmorton High School, whether it is for intervention, extension, remediation or up-skilling.

Students working on Correspondence School programmes may study in the Learning Centre.

Some gifted and talented provision may occur within the Learning Centre. A number of staff and senior students are available in the Learning Centre as tutors and peer support tutors.

The Learning Centre is well-resourced and students are well-catered for with individual educational and action plans being put in place in consultation with staff, students and parents and whanau.
